Anna Boratynska is a Textile & Surface designer based in New York City. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from The Fashion Institute of Technology.
The embellishment of a canvas is what has drawn Anna to Textile and Surface Design. She loves that textiles are tangible and constant in our lives; they combine beauty and practicality, envelope us in warmth and style. Her design starts with a creative exploration; being immersed in nature is the source of boundless inspiration, whether walking through the park or traveling around the world. The elements found in the surroundings, such as colors, shapes, textures, lights and shadows incite her curiosity. In her creative process Anna utilizes diverse media, such as sketching, hand-painting, weaving, screen-printing, dyeing, photography and computer aided design to bring her ideas to life. She aspires to bring forward the simplicity and imperfect beauty of it all through the mark of a hand.
